At Leo Cussen
David is a Lawyer and Mentor for our Practical Legal Training Law Grads at Leo Cussen Centre for Law.
He runs an ‘Acting techniques for New Lawyers’ workshop for PLT grads and has a special interest in analysing the different the ‘voices’ lawyers need to develop and adopt on entering the profession.
David has a special interest in Civil Litigation and has been a member of the Civil Litigation, Employment, Disputes and Administrative Law teams.
Before Leo Cussen
David is a sole practitioner in general practice with a focus on civil litigation. He has run his own Trust Account for many years.
Before this he gained very broad experience while employed as a legal officer in State Government Legal Departments, then as an employed solicitor in a large CBD firm and then in smaller city, suburban and regional firms.
David was the National Team Leader in Civil Litigation while a lecturer in Practical Legal Training course.

Trained as a professional actor under the mentorship of Hayes Gordon OBE, AO at the Ensemble Studios.
A somewhat rusty fencer (the foil variety rather than the house one).
An aficionado of world cinema particularly of the classic period and is always happy to talk about film with anyone.
