Everything you need to know about completing your professional placement as part of your PLT
Placements carried out as part of the Leo Cussen PLT are 15 days (105 hours) in all states except WA where they are 20 days (140 hours) in length. Graduates must successfully complete the Placement in order to complete the PLT and to be eligible
to apply for admission to the legal profession. Graduates must ensure that they carry out at least two days (or four half-days) of work experience per week during the Placement period.
Depending on your circumstances and availability we can assist you to find an arrangement that works for you.
Before the course census date, Graduates must notify Leo Cussen whether they wish to organise their own Placement, or have their Placement organised by Leo Cussen.
Graduates who elect to organise their own placement must seek approval from Leo Cussen by submitting a Placement Arrangement Form prior to commencing the Placement. If you need assistance win self-organising a placement, our placement and careers team are on hand to help.
Graduates who elect to have their Placement organised by Leo Cussen must agree to the terms and conditions of that service.
All Leo Cussen organised placements run full-time at the end of your program. If you wish to complete a self-organised placement this can be part-time and we will be available throughout your program to help and advise you on this.
There are specific date periods during which placements are available. Placement periods can be found on the Program Dates & Fees page of
the Leo Cussen website, or you will be notified of the placement period options prior to census date.
You must choose a placement period that commences after the conclusion of your PLT program; you cannot choose a placement period
that falls prior to, or during, your PLT program. We endeavour to offer placement periods that begin no more than 4 weeks after the
conclusion of your coursework.

also consider placements outside of Australian capital cities (i.e.regional Australia), but we cannot guarantee this. You will be given
the opportunity to provide your location preferences which we will consider.
